I received some Marcy Tilton fabric today. It's lovely! 3 knits for tops, cause that's how I roll:
White on white cotton print with teal
This lovely is a 4-way stretch knit
I thought I'd have plenty of summer sewing season left, but for the last two weeks, it's been COLD! Maybe I should move on to my big Fall Project titled, "Lingerie Trench Coat". While inspired by the famous $5500 Burberry Lace Kickback trench, I won't be using layers of 4-ply silk. I purchased a black/gold circular lace (yay for no flowers!) and a black/gold metallic glazed linen for the body of my coat. I will line it in a silk charmeuse (cause I love it) but that color is yet to be determined. Sorry, I'm unable to capture the beautiful luster of the fabric; I'm a pretty crappy photographer.
Finding perfect jeans is like finding a unicorn....
Do YOU have unicorn in your back yard?
Yeah. Me either.
What I DO have is the newest Itch-To-Stitch Designs pattern release: Mountain View Pull On Jeans, and they are my new BFFF! They MIGHT even be unicorn jeans... Breaking Ground is mostly about trying new-to-you designers, but you can also twist it to be a new-to-you technique, style or other such personal challenge. Obviously, Itch-to-Stitch is NOT new to me, but the concept of pull on pants as everyday wear is, and it's a trend I've tried to avoid for a long time! Pull on pants are for yoga and sleeping, right? (SNORT) Wearing pull on pants or leggings as real pants (that look terrific) is how I'm Breaking Ground for myself!
Pattern Details Mountain View Pull On Jeans gives you just about everything you find in a traditional jeans pattern but without the bothe…

Project Origins: Fabric
My project for this year's Breaking Ground Blog Tour was inspired by the fabric! I knew as soon as I saw the olive stretch twill from Simply By Ti ages ago, it needed to become a "denim" jacket... someday.
Someday when I found the perfect jacket pattern....
Someday when I had time in my sewing schedule....
Someday when I had the room in my fabric budget.... Someday turned out to be January 24, 2018!
On that day, a notice had gone out that thanks to a distributor issue, the twill would be discontinued! Naturally, I panicked and ordered 5 yards on the spot... you know, for someday.
I can't really say why I was so drawn to the olive color. I had worked with the twill in the burgundy color-way in November, and found it to be a…
